Quetta: The Jaffar Express, scheduled to travel from Quetta to Peshawar on Wednesday morning, was cancelled as repair work on the damaged railway track in Dasht could not be completed in time.

According to Pakistan Railways officials, all passengers of the affected train will be provided a full ticket refund.

The suspension follows an explosion on Tuesday evening when an improvised device targeted the railway line in Dasht, causing six carriages of the Jaffar Express to derail. As reported by Quetta Voice, nearly a dozen passengers, including women and children, sustained injuries in the incident.

Railway authorities said repair teams are working to restore the track, but services are expected to remain disrupted until the damaged section is fully rehabilitated.

The attack once again highlights the challenges facing Pakistan’s railway network, particularly in Balochistan, where repeated acts of sabotage have disrupted train services and posed risks to passenger safety.
