Quetta: The Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has launched strict disciplinary action against exam staff and officials accused of facilitating widespread irregularities and malpractice during the 2024 annual examinations.
According to the inquiry committee’s findings, several officials and invigilators allowed serious violations of examination rules, enabling cheating and misuse of mobile phones inside exam halls. Some candidates were even permitted to use unfair means openly, raising serious concerns about the transparency of the process.
The officials named in the report include Incharge Muhammad Usman (Assistant Controller Examination Committee), Nasir Ahmed Anjum (Controller Examinations), Muhammad Khalid (Controller Examinations), and Salman Muhammad Yousuf (Superintendent, Government MHS School).
The committee revealed that during examinations, invigilators often left candidates unsupervised, ignored malpractice, or allowed electronic devices inside exam centers. In some cases, unauthorized individuals were granted access to examination halls.
The Board has decided to take criminal action against the accused staff and permanently bar them from performing exam duties in the future. Moreover, the answer sheets of candidates found guilty of malpractice will be canceled.
Officials emphasized that the use of mobile phones, smart devices, and other electronic gadgets inside exam centers is strictly prohibited, and warned that any violation in the future will result in stern action.
This crackdown marks a major move by the Balochistan Board to restore public trust in the examination system and curb the long-standing menace of cheating and corruption in academic assessments.
