Qaseem Shah:

QUETTA: In compliance with the directives of the Balochistan High Court, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has intensified arrangements for holding local government elections in Quetta district.

According to an ECP spokesperson, citizens, voters, and potential candidates are urged to verify their vote registration in the respective electoral rolls and wards. The ECP has advised that applications for vote registration, transfer, correction, or deletion can be submitted at the District Election Commissioner’s Office in Quetta.

The spokesperson further stated that once the electoral rolls are finalized, the official schedule for the local body elections will be announced. Under Section 39 of the Elections Act, 2017, no changes — including vote entry, transfer, or correction — will be allowed after the issuance of the election notification.

The Election Commission has appealed to all citizens to verify their voting details on time to ensure their active participation in the democratic process.
