Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has increased the maximum annual fee limit for private medical and dental colleges to 1.89 million Pakistani Rupees for the 2025-26 academic year. This marks a 5% increase compared to the previous year’s fee cap of 1.8 million PKR.
According to recommendations by the Prime Minister’s Medical Education Committee , the PMDC will link future fee hikes from the 2026-27 session onward to Pakistan’s inflation rate, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) . This ensures fees remain aligned with the country’s economic conditions.
The PMDC has mandated all private medical and dental colleges to clearly display their fee structures at least three months before admissions start, promoting transparency and helping prospective students plan their education expenses better.
Strict penalties will be enforced on institutions charging fees above the prescribed limit or submitting false fee details, safeguarding students’ rights and maintaining fairness in medical education.
