BHC Halts Rs50m Grant to Bar Before Elections

News Desk: Acting Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Mulakhail, has issued a stay order against the provincial government’s decision to release Rs50 million in funds to the Balochistan High Court Bar Association ahead of its upcoming elections.

The order was passed during the hearing of a constitutional petition filed by Advocate Syed Manzoor Ahmed Shah, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court.

While issuing the stay order, the court observed that the government’s move to release funds before the polls could potentially affect the transparency of the elections and undermine equal electoral opportunities for all candidates.

The court ruled that the allocated amount would now be disbursed only after the completion of the Bar Association’s elections, ensuring a fair and impartial electoral process.
