Balochistan Government Approves Separate Jail for Juvenile Prisoners in Quetta

Quetta (Web Desk) — The Balochistan government has approved the construction of a separate jail for juvenile prisoners in Quetta, aiming to improve rehabilitation and educational opportunities for young offenders.

According to the Prison Department of Balochistan, the new juvenile jail in Quetta will be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 750 million, and construction is expected to begin soon. Officials said that until the completion of the main project, a temporary facility for juvenile inmates will be set up on Sariab Road.

The upcoming model jail for juveniles will also feature a school and a vocational training center, providing inmates with access to education and skill development programs. This initiative is part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to promote rehabilitation and reform in the prison system.

Authorities believe the project will mark a significant step toward a more humane and reform-oriented justice system for young offenders in Balochistan.
