Qaseem Shah: The Balochistan Provincial Assembly today officially passed the Child Marriage Prohibition Bill, a key legislative move aimed at protecting children and promoting social welfare in the province. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti confirmed that the bill had been under review by relevant assembly committees for six months and had previously received approval from the Balochistan Cabinet.

Speaking to the media, CM Bugti said the majority of assembly members voted in favor of the bill, demonstrating the robustness of Balochistan’s democratic system. He added that while opposition protests are a recognized democratic right, the government fully respects dissent and continues to maintain open channels for dialogue, consultation, and discussion.

CM Bugti emphasized that differences of opinion are a cornerstone of democracy, but legislation is always enacted in the best interest of the public. He highlighted that the government prioritizes transparent and consensus-driven lawmaking, ensuring bills are passed after careful consultation. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the progress, development, and welfare of the people of Balochistan, pledging that such initiatives will continue with full responsibility and dedication.
