News Desk: Quetta is facing severe hardship as low gas pressure and unannounced gas load shedding disrupt daily life amid dropping winter temperatures. Residents are struggling to keep their homes warm and cook meals, creating a growing public concern in the provincial capital.

However, areas including Sariab, Satellite Town, Nawa Killi, Jinnah Town, and Brewery Road, households report that gas pressure is too low to operate heaters and geysers. Many families have been forced to rely on expensive alternatives such as LPG cylinders and firewood, making early-morning cooking and heating a daily struggle.

The unplanned outages have frustrated citizens because gas interruptions are unscheduled and not officially communicated, leaving residents uncertain about when supply will resume. Despite paying high monthly bills, people continue to experience repeated gas shortages every winter without any long-term solution from Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) or authorities.

The ongoing cold wave has also triggered a rise in flu, pneumonia, chest infections, and viral fevers, affecting vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. Doctors in government and private hospitals report an increase in patients seeking treatment for winter-related illnesses and warn that inadequate heating could worsen health conditions if gas shortages persist.

Local activists and community leaders criticize chronic negligence by authorities, stating that Quetta faces this winter gas crisis every year. They are urging the federal government and SSGC to take immediate corrective action to ensure continuous gas supply, especially during peak cold hours.

For now, Quetta residents continue to battle harsh winter conditions, limited heating options, and rising medical issues, highlighting the urgent need for a reliable and uninterrupted gas supply in the city.
