Quetta : The Aurat Foundation Balochistan AFB has released its annual report on the situation of violence against women in the province, covering the period from January to December 2025. The report highlights a disturbing increase in serious cases of violence against women, including murder, honor killings, abductions, harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, and suicides.
According to the data collected, 123 cases of violence against women were reported, with 65 women and 25 men killed, including 33 women and 25 men killed in the name of honor. The report notes that many cases go unreported, making the situation even more alarming.
The report also highlights the efforts of the Women and Children Support Center (WJFC), which received 129 applications, including 35 cases of harassment, 37 cases of domestic violence, 4 cases of missing women, 4 cases of threats, 14 cases of blackmail, 1 case of digital violence, and 8 cases of financial fraud.
The Aurat Foundation is calling on the government and relevant authorities to take serious action to address the issue, provide training to police, judiciary, and lawyers, and ensure timely and transparent investigations.
Key findings:
– 58 honor killings reported in 2025, with Jafarabad having the highest number of cases (10)
– Quetta tops the list with 103 cases of murder and honor killings in the past 6 years
– Lack of reporting and social pressure contribute to the underestimation of the issue
– Need for strict implementation of laws and social and institutional measures to address the problem
The AF emphasizes its commitment to continuing its efforts to protect women’s rights and provide support to victims of violence.
