Syed Muhammad Qaseem: Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan chaired a high-level meeting of the Secretaries Committee, calling for stronger oversight, fair recruitment and faster completion of public welfare projects.

He said that strengthening the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system would boost transparency and improve performance in development schemes. The Chief Secretary also stressed that vacant posts across departments must be filled strictly on merit.

Officials briefed the meeting that more than 16,000 vacancies in Grades 1–15 and 4,000 positions above Grade 16 have already been advertised.

To encourage a cashless economy, the Chief Secretary directed that all government payments and transactions be shifted to digital platforms. He further instructed employees to ensure presence at their assigned duty stations.

Khan added that using social media to highlight development projects helps build public confidence and ensures timely, transparent execution. He said these measures represent a significant step toward strengthening good governance and public service in Balochistan.
