News Desk: The Balochistan Home Department has organized a three-day policy dialogue on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), bringing together senior government officials, security experts, academics, and civil society representatives to explore practical strategies for promoting peace, youth engagement, and social harmony in the province.

The opening session was attended by Provincial Adviser for Sports and Youth Affairs Meena Majeed, DIG Counter Terrorism Department Aitezaz Ahmed Goraya, Chief Coordination Officer CVE Dr Dost Muhammad Baloch, along with Dr Ismatullah, Israr Ahmed Madni, Iftikhar Firdous, Fahad Nabeel, and other stakeholders.

Addressing the participants, Meena Majeed said the provincial government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, is actively implementing a comprehensive Youth Policy aimed at improving the social and economic conditions of young people across Balochistan. He said initiatives such as the Youth Socio-Economic Development Program are designed to protect youth from misinformation, extremist narratives, and negative propaganda through awareness and capacity-building.

He added that Youth Resource Centers have been established to provide career counseling and professional guidance, enabling young people to make informed choices about their futures. Highlighting the talent of Balochistan’s youth, the adviser said the government is offering structured skills training and facilitating overseas employment opportunities for around 30,000 young people.

The provincial adviser further said that the government is equipping youth with digital skills and laptops to help them access online employment opportunities from their homes. To promote a balanced lifestyle, he said football and cricket tournaments are also being organized to encourage healthy extracurricular activities alongside education.

He also informed that the provincial government has revived ghost schools to ensure access to education and prevent children from dropping out of the school system.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG CTD Aitezaz Ahmed Goraya and other speakers appreciated the Balochistan government for initiating dialogue on the critical issue of countering violent extremism. They termed the initiative a timely and constructive step and stressed the need for continued engagement through similar policy forums in the future.
