News Desk: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired the second meeting of the Provincial Council of the Kumak Support Fund for persons with disabilities in Quetta.

The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, senior officials of concerned departments, and representatives of organizations working for persons with disabilities.

The council decided to expand and strengthen welfare programs for persons with disabilities across Balochistan, with a focus on effective implementation. The chief minister directed a notable increase in monthly financial assistance for registered persons with disabilities.

Approval was also granted for the immediate procurement of special equipment, including electric wheelchairs and other assistive devices, to improve mobility and quality of life.

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said the Kumak Support Fund would be extended in phases to cover every registered person with a disability in the province. He emphasized that the Kumak Endowment Fund would play a key role in promoting self-reliance among persons with disabilities.

He further directed authorities to ensure educational assistance and scholarships for students with disabilities from matriculation to PhD level. In addition, vocational and technical training, skills development initiatives, mobility-support equipment, and interest-free loans will be provided to facilitate dignified employment and economic inclusion.
