Chaman: A tragic gas cylinder explosion occurred in a residential house near Torpal area of Chaman in Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of seven children and 22 injuries including 4 women. The ages of children range from 5 to 12 years.

According to hospital and rescue sources, the explosion took place shortly before Iftar on the eighth day of Ramadan. The children had reportedly gathered at the house, as they did daily, to collect lassi for breaking their fast. Suddenly, the gas cylinder exploded, completely destroying the room and trapping the children under the debris, leading to the devastating loss of lives.

The injured were immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Chaman, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Hospital officials stated that the condition of some of the injured remains critical.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Initial reports suggest that gas leakage may have caused the explosion; however, the exact cause will be determined after a detailed inqui ry.
