Quetta (Quetta Voice): In a tragic incident on Sunday morning, three members of the Hazara community were shot dead in a suspected targeted attack in the Hazarganji area of Quetta.

According to police, the victims were vegetable sellers who were transporting vegetables toward Hazara Town when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them. The deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Large numbers of people gathered at the site and blocked the main Western Bypass to protest the killing. Protesters chanted slogans and demanded immediate security measures and justice from the authorities.

Police officials described the attack as targeted and have launched an investigation. No group has claimed responsibility so far.

Members of the Hazara Shia community have faced repeated targeted violence in Balochistan in the past. This incident comes after a considerable lull, raising fresh concerns about the safety of the community.
