Web Desk: The Government of Balochistan has announced the launch of a cutting-edge digital monitoring system aimed at improving the attendance, performance, and accountability of field officers across the province. The new system will feature a live location-based attendance mechanism, allowing authorities to monitor officers in real time and ensure their presence at assigned duty stations.
The decision was finalized during a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where officials assessed the progress of ongoing development projects. Departmental secretaries presented detailed briefings on project timelines, quality standards, challenges, and implementation strategies.
Strict Action Against Officers Absent for More Than 10 Days
Emphasizing strict timelines, the Chief Minister directed that all ongoing development schemes must be completed before June 2026, warning that delays or negligence will not be tolerated. He instructed district officers to remain present in the field rather than staying in the provincial capital, Quetta, and to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and in line with approved standards.
Highlighting the importance of field supervision, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that effective monitoring is critical for timely resolution of public issues and successful completion of development initiatives. He ordered strict action against officers found absent from their assigned areas for more than 10 days, stressing zero tolerance for poor performance.
Warning to Officials Responsible for Inefficiency, Delays, or Negligence
The Chief Minister stated that the digital monitoring system will enhance governance, improve transparency, and strengthen accountability within the provincial administration. He noted that the initiative will ensure efficient use of public funds while accelerating the pace of development in Balochistan.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment, he said that transparency, quality assurance, and timely completion of development projects remain top priorities. He warned that officials responsible for inefficiency, delays, or negligence will face strict consequences.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also appreciated the role of Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan for consistently holding Secretaries’ Committee meetings and driving reform efforts. He directed authorities to further strengthen the digital monitoring framework to ensure fast-track and sustainable development across the province.
