Opposition attacked parliament: Balochistan Ministers

Balochistan ministers have accused the opposition legislators of attacking the parliament on June 18. Speaking at a hurriedly called news conference, provincial ministers including Zahoor Buledi, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Ziaullah Langove lashed out at the opposition for what they term attacking the sanctity of the parliament.

They claimed that the opposition had to respect the sanctity of the Balochistan Assembly. “That was a bad precedent in the parliamentary history of Balochistan”, Zahoor Buledi said. He said police cannot arrest the opposition legislators without the permission of the speaker Balochistan Assembly.

The ministers demanded of the opposition legislators to end the protest and come to the assembly to have a debate on the budget for the financial year 2021-2022.

When asked about the sudden resignation of Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, Ziaullah Langove stated, “this happens in coalition governments and it is nothing new”. He however rejected the assertion of Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind with regard to any law and order situation in Kachhi district.

Ministers’s comments have come three days after the opposition lawmakers voluntarily surrendered before police after registration of the First Information Report (FIR).
