Chief Justice BHC had a meal with prisoners at Quetta jail

Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan had a joint meal with prisoners in the district Jail Quetta on Saturday. The top judge of the province paid a surprise visit to the jail housing hundreds of inmates.
Mr. Afghan also checked the food quality at the jail. He however dismayed over the non-functioning of the meeting hall for the prisoners. The CJ also ordered issuance of show-cause notice to the Superintendent Jail in this regard, an official handout issued after the visit said.
Mr. Justice Ejaz Khan Swati and Mr. Justice Zaheeruddin Kakar also accompanied the CJ during the visit.

CJ expresses displeasure over the presence of five prisoners
The CJ expressed displeasure over the presence of five prisoners awarded life imprisonment in the Quetta jail. He ordered the shifting of the prisoners to the Central Jail Mach on the occasion.
The CJ interacted with prisoners and inquired about their problems. The CJ ordered the judges of the subordinate courts to district jail regarding some criminal cases of the prisoners.
Since assuming the charge, this was the CJ BHC’s first visit to the district Jail Hudda Quetta.
