Educational enclave at Kuchlak under consideration: CM Balochistan

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday stated that the establishment of an educational enclave at Kuchlak was under consideration. He expressed these views while talking to the President University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore, Ibrahim Hassan Murad.

The CM stated that the provincial government was considering the establishment of an educational enclave at Kuchlak, located some 25km north of Quetta to promote education. “This will help in boosting literacy rate”, he said.

UMT plans to establish a center of excellence in Balochistan

“UMT planning to establish a center of excellence in Balochistan”, Ibrahim Hassan Murad informed the CM. He stated that UMT was working on the establishment of an innovation hub and knowledge economy in the country.

Chief Minister however said that higher education was playing a crucial role in human resource development. He informed that the Balochistan government was giving Rs. 2.5 bs as a grant to higher education. “This is a substantial amount”, he added.

Jam Kamal said the government has planned to establish university campuses in all major cities of the province. He also hailed the efforts of UMT for the promotion of education across the country.
