UNDP Balochistan conducts NHDR 2020 workshop

QUETTA: UNDP conducted Provincial Launching and Dissemination Workshop on the Pakistan National Human Development Report (NHDR) 2020 at the National Institute of Management (NIM), Quetta. During the workshop, NHDR 2020 key findings, diagnosis, and recommendations/way-forward were shared with the participants who represented different walks of life, including the elected representatives, government departments, civil society organizations, representatives from academia, media representatives, and social activists.

Speaking to the forum Mr. Zulfiqar Durrani, Head of Office of UNDP Balochistan, said “The NHDR 2020 shows that policies and reforms to tackle inequality must promote decent work, gender equality, and human development while withdrawing privileges”. Advisor to the CM of Balochistan, Dr. Rubaba Buledi, appreciated UNDP Pakistan’s NHDR 2020 by remarking “This report is an eye-opener for public policy in Balochistan. The previous NHDR led to a shift in focus towards the youth, while this report paves the way towards inequality reduction”. Secretary Planning & Development Department, GoB, Mr. Abdullah Khan Noorzai, represented the Government of Balochistan very well by giving a detailed talk on the report and by advising the government officials and all the other stakeholders to make full use of the document for policy, programming, and planning work.
