Owners of birds shops were allowed to open their shops to feed birds locked inside cages in Quetta’s Kasi road on Saturday. The Balochistan government had ordered a lockdown of all shops, business centers and shopping malls following global outbreak of novel coronavirus in Quetta city.
However, owners of the birds’ shops located at Kasi road Quetta complained that thousands of birds including parrots, falcons, pigeons, cocktail, etc were without feed for the last couple of days.
The Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Major (R) Aurangzai Badini took notice of the situation and ordered the administration to allow owners of the birds’ shops to feed birds locked inside cages inside their shops.
The owners of the birds’ shops were allowed to feed birds and they were not allowed to sell them, an official statement quoting the deputy commissioner said on Saturday evening.
The owners appeal of feeding birds went viral the other day, prompting the administration to allow them to open their shops.
All shops, markets and shopping malls remained closed for fifth consecutive day as part of official lockdown to halt the spread of novel coronavirus in the city.
