Woman gives birth to a baby outside BMC hospital

News Desk :

A woman has given birth to a baby outside the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMCH) Quetta on Wednesday. The enraged family members blocked the road and chanted slogans against the hospital administration for what they call its failure to provide timely treatment to the woman.

Despite repeated attempts, the Quetta Voice was unable to speak to the woman’s family. The family had shifted the woman and the baby to the house after the delivery.

The protest prompted the Medical Superintendent of the BMCH, Dr. Noorullah Musakhail to establish an inquiry committee to probe into the incident. The committee comprises professor Dr. Najma Ghaffar, Dr. Abdul Rashid Jamali, and Dr. Abdul Mateen.

The MS directed the committee members to submit a report within seven days in this regard, a notification issued on Wednesday concluded. However, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) in a statement claimed that the woman gave birth to the baby inside the labour room. “This is a mafia, which is trying to defame the MS BMC”, the YDA claimed.
