QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Wednesday decided to distribute foodstuff among deserving, needy and daily wage workers from next week in the city. Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan chaired a high-level meeting in this regard, which reviewed issues relating to food security and daily wage workers plight in the province. Provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Buledi, Mir Ziaullah Langove and another high level civil and military officers participated in the meeting.

Foodstuff would be distributed at specified locations with the support of volunteer organizations in the city. The meeting decided to approach the federal government with regard to purchase of wheat so that it could be used in the case of any emergency situation.

The meeting also decided that poor, needy and daily wage workers on the district level would be pinpointed and financial assistance or food would be distributed among them.

The Chief Minister on the occasion directed the concerned quarters to take all possible steps to cope with the situation and make sure the provision of foodstuff to needy and deserving people in the province.
