HEC Medical Seats: CM Balochistan takes notice of Quetta Voice news

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has taken notice of the news item published in the daily Quetta Voice about the Higher Education Commission (HEC) medical seats. The CM has directed the Secretary Health Balochistan, Noor ul Haq Baloch to prepare a brief about the HEC seats of Balochistan.

“We have prepared a brief about the HEC seats since 2012”, Noor ul Haq Baloch confirmed to this daily. He said the CM has taken notice of the news item published in Quetta Voice and sought details about the issue.

The HEC has abolished 134 seats reserves for students of Balochistan in various colleges of the country. The HEC had increased and reserved medical seats of Balochistan on the order of the former Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2018.

The health department in its brief has proposed that the provincial government should ask the federal government to restore 134 HEC seats of Balochistan. If the federal government is not ready to restore then the provincial government should allocate Rs.268 million to finance the expenditures of the students.
