Asmat Hanafi :

A first information report (FIR) was lodged against three accused of illegal hunting in Balochistan’s Pishin district. Forest and Wildlife Department lodged FIR against the three accused in tehsil Huramzai district Pishin.

A video of the accused that went viral on social media prompted the Forest Department to take legal action against the accused. The accused include Israr Agha, Muheeb Agha, and Marjan Agha. “So far, no arrest has been made in this regard”, Niaz Khan Kakar, a Quetta-based forest and wildlife officer told Quetta Voice.

In the video, one of the accused is counting dead Chakoor Patridge and putting them in a bag. “This is December 20th, and we have killed these birds”, one of the illegal hunters says. The video was widely shared on social media.

“We will arrest the accused nominated in the FIR”, Levies said

“We will arrest the accused nominated in the FIR”, a levies official of the Huramzai levies station said. He requested anonymity since he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Rampant illegal hunting has claimed the lives of thousands of birds in general and Siberian birds, in particular, every year. This is for the first time that a newly launched movement Asher has campaigned against deforestation and illegal hunting in an effective way.
