Reko Diq cannot be sacrificed for IMF: Maulana Wasey

QUETTA: Balochistan Amir of Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F), Maulana Abdul Wasey has said that Reko Diq Project cannot be sacrificed for the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Addressing a news conference on Monday evening, the Maulana rejected the recently held in-camera session held in the Balochistan Assembly about the multi-billion dollar project. Maulana Wasey said the federal government had fewer resources and it was using Balochistan’s resources to pay the debts of the IMF.

Other central leaders of the religious party, which is the second-largest parliamentary group in the Balochistan Assembly said. The party’s provincial council held in Quetta thoroughly discussed all issues relating to the province.

Islamabad removes Nawab Raisani’s government because of Reko Diq

Maulana Wasey said the government of former chief minister, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani was removed because of the Reko Diq Project. He said JUI F and Nawab Raisani had taken a principled stance about the multi-billion dollar project.

He said representatives from Balochistan should be taken on board with regard to any future agreement about the Reko Diq project. He endorsed the demand of the BNP Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal for demanding a 50 percent share for Balochistan.
