QUETTA: Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan has announced to protest outside Chief Minister Balochistan’s Secretariat on January 12 (Wednesday). “We have decided to stage a protest in support of our demands”, Dr. Hafeez Mandokhail, the Chairman YDA told a press conference on Monday evening.

Instead of addressing our issues, this government arrested our doctors and sent them to jail, Mr. Mandokhail lamented. Young doctors have been protesting for the last three months in government-run hospitals of Balochistan.

Poor and deserving patients remained the worst sufferers of the doctors’ strike

The YDA leaders termed the provincial government responsible for what they called its irresponsible attitude towards the grievances of patients and doctors. “We will not make any compromise over the rights of patients and doctors”, Dr. Mandokhail said.

He said several rounds of negotiations were held with government committees but with no solution. He noted that former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and other political leaders have endorsed the demands of the YDA. “It is the government, which creates problems”, he added.
