QUETTA: The Balochistan government formed a parliamentary committee led by chief minister Jam Kamal regarding the COVID-19 in the province. The provincial government withdrew its earlier notification about the formation of the parliamentary committee and chief secretary being its chairman. The government withdrew the notification after a harsh response from opposition political parties and social media activists.

Provincial ministers including Nawabzada Tariq Magsi, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, Mir Asadullah Baloch, opposition leader Malik Sikandar Advocate, Nasrullah Zarai of PKMAP and other legislators are members of the committee, said in an official handout issued on Wednesday night.

However, chief secretary Balochistan captain (R) Fazeel Asghar would serve as secretary of the committee. Imran Gichki, secretary sports, Mudassar Waheed, secretary health, Saleh Muhammad Nasar, secretary local government would also be members of the committee to assist the government in its battle against the coronavirus.

The committee would give suggestions and proposals with regard to the containment of novel coronavirus and its post impacts in the province.
