Gwadar Youth Festival began at a colorful function on Saturday evening. The Advisor to Chief Minister Balochistan, Lala Rasheed Dashti inaugurated the festival. Secretary Sports Balochistan, Imran Gichki, Commissioner Mekran Division, Shabir Ahmed Mengal, and other high ups were also present on the occasion.

“This festival a positive stride towards a prosperous and developed Mekran”, Mr. Dashti said. He urged the youth present at the festival to play their due role in the peace and development of the country and nation.

A large number of male and female students and youth from Mekran and Gwadar participated in the inaugural ceremony. “Government has decided to promote sports and engage youth”, Imran Gichki, Secretary Sports said. The sports department has launched a number of activities across Balochistan to promote sports and encourage local talent. “Our objective is to promote the hidden talent of the youth of Balochistan”, Mr. Gichki added.

The festival will have competitions in Science Model, Wall Painting, Paper Painting, Tableaux, Drama Speeches, Balochi Culture in which students from Gwadar District Government and Private Schools, Girls and Boys Colleges, Gwadar University, and other educational institutions and educational academies will participate. There will also be bookstalls Various stalls consisting of Balochi traditional food and Balochi cultural items etc. have also been set up.
