QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has directed the construction of three service areas to facilitate pilgrims traveling to Iran. This was a long-standing demand by the Shia pilgrims traveling from Pakistan to neighboring Iran.
A large number of Shia pilgrims from various parts of Pakistan enter Iran via Taftan Balochistan every day.
The CM approved the construction of three service areas on a summary sent by the member of the board of revenue on Friday. The federal ministry for religious affairs had requested the Balochistan government to construct the service areas to facilitate the pilgrims going to Iran.
Mr. Bizenjo also directed the revenue department to make sure provision of land for the construction of the service areas, an official handout issued here on Friday said.
Service areas would be constructed at Padag, Nokundi and Dalbandin, the handout mentioned. The said locations would be given on lease to the national highway authority by the Balochistan revenue department, the handout concluded.
