Poets, writers, authors, and political figures at the three-day Pashto Seminar in Quetta called for the promotion of the Pashto language. The Pashto Academy in Quetta had organized a three-day seminar to discuss the importance, and history of the Pashto language.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Balochistan, Muhammad Hashim Ghilzai was the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony of the three-day seminar. He spoke about the importance and history of the ancient language in his speech. “Literary figures, poets, and authors’ role crucial in the promotion of any language”, Mr. Ghilzai said.
He urged the intellectuals, authors and writers to focus on the promotion of education despite their tireless efforts for the promotion of the Pashto language.

“Pashto should be declared as an official and educational language”, Syed Khair Muhammad Arif, the Chief of the Pashto Academy demanded. He said Pashto was one of the ancient languages around the globe and underlined the need for effective measures to promote the language.
Authors, writers, and poets from Quetta, Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa, Afghanistan participated in the three-day seminar, which thoroughly discussed the importance and history of the ancient language. “We all have to work for the promotion of Pashto”, Professor Dr. Waqir Ali Shah said. He urged the literary figures to put their heads together and bring out the language of the prevailing crisis.

During the seminar, various sessions were held to discuss the issues languages across the globe are facing. Questions and answer sessions were also held.
“Culture and history need to be preserved at all costs”, Abdul Rauf Rafiqi, another speaker said. The speakers demanded of the provincial and federal governments to pay special attention to the promotion of Pashto, Balochi, Sindhi, Saraiki and other languages.
