The Inspector-General Frontier Corps (North) Balochistan, Major General, Muhammad Yousaf Majoka arrived in Dera Bugti in the aftermath of the outbreak of cholera in the Pir Koh area on Sunday. The cholera outbreak has claimed seven lives as per the official statistics.
FC has established a free medical camp in Sui to make sure provision of timely medical treatment to cholera patients. “People of Dera Bugti would not be left alone in this hour of trial”, Major General Muhammad Yousaf Majoka said.

He urged the FC and civil administration to double their efforts and improve mutual coordination to address the water scarcity issue in the Pir Koh and other parts of Dera Bugti. The FC Chief was also briefed about the ongoing relief operation and the steps taken by the government for the provision of clean drinking water to the residents of Pir Koh.
Residents of the area were being provided through 26 water channels, the IG FC was told. The water supply scheme at Pir Koh would be completed as early as possible and for this purpose Rs.300 million have already been released by the provincial government.
WHO team is already in Dera Bugti to assess the situation
The World Health Organization (WHO) team has already arrived in Dera Bugti to assess the situation and probe into the outbreak of cholera. The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has also set up a facility to provide space to the patients and make sure better medical treatment.
“FC would work along with local people and overcome this situation”, Major General Muhammad Yousaf Majoka said. Residents of the area thanked the FC for their tireless efforts and timely response in the aftermath of the outbreak of cholera in the Pir Koh area.
