A Center of Excellence being established in Gwadar University

Vice-Chancellor University of Gwadar Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir presided over an important meeting with the heads of academic departments on Monday. Addressing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the university. He congratulated the academic and admin staff on the approval of the university project by the federal government. He said that from next semester the University of Gwadar will introduce a new field of studies and new programs will be launched. A Center of Excellence is being established at the university for the study and research of Maritime Affairs and Marine Sciences.

Keeping in view the importance and usefulness of Gwadar Port, BS and Diploma courses in new subjects related to Port Management will be introduced. He said that keeping in view the importance and need of CPEC and Gwadar Port, the present Federal Government headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved the project of Gwadar University on a priority basis and he has directed to complete the project in a standard manner in a very short time and work on it would be started on priority basis from next financial year.

He said that scholarships would be given to the deserving students of the university to attract them towards higher education in the region and no compromise would be made on the quality of higher education.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the interest shown by the Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, local legislators, senior officials of HEC, Governor Balochistan, Chief Minister Balochistan, Chief Secretary, Provincial Secretary Planning, Finance, and Higher and Technical Education, and local administration in the financial and development affairs of the University. The meeting was attended by Director Finance, Deputy Controller Examinations, Assistant Registrar, heads of all teaching departments, and administrative officials.
