Billions embezzled in name of development: Quetta Development Forum

Quetta Development Forum (QDF) on Thursday claimed that billions of rupees were embezzled in the name of development projects in the provincial capital. The QDF organized a post-budget dialogue and alternative approach for the development of Quetta at the press club.

Senior parliamentarian, Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Raisani, former chief secretary Mehfooz Ali Khan, Abdul Mateen AKhundzada, the founder of QDF, Dr. Laal Khan Kakar, the Chairman Shaheed Baz Muhammad Foundation, Nazar Muhammad Bareech and others addressed the seminar. The speakers expressed concern about the poor quality of development works in the city.

The speakers said that billions of rupees are being wasted in our province every year. Hin is also the diamond of words in this budget. The province is so rich that we can stand in the ranks of the developed nations of the world, they mentioned.

This is the city for which no master plan has been made yet, they lamented. It is a deserted city. The relentless wastage of the city’s resources must be stopped until a master plan is drawn up for Quetta. The speakers said that the incompetent people have to be deprived of power and the conscious people have to move forward.

Those who have imposed such incompetent selection on the people have reached the point of incompetence. Therefore the public must be organized, the speakers demanded. Fake leaders must be avoided.

Speakers demanded that the construction of new buildings in Quetta should be banned .. Population must be controlled. Local committees that used to issue local certificates should be reinstated so that Quetta can be protected. The speakers announced that practical steps would be taken to bring the people out for the democratic protest. Conscious people across the city will be rescued on a common platform. The struggle to solve the problems of the people through democratic struggle will be our beacon.
