Senator Sarfaraz Bugti of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) survived an attack in the Sui area of the Dera Bugti district. One security guard of Mr. Bugti sustained injuries in the attack. The injured guard was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Levies sources said Senator Bugti was unharmed in the attack. The blast was heard far and wide causing panic in the area. Police, levies, and personnel of other law enforcement agencies reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. Levies sources informed that the bomb was detonated through remote control. The bomb went off when the convoy of the former Balochistan Home Minister was passing through the area.
Law enforcers put a cordon on the area to probe into the incident.
