QUETTA: The Balochistan government has been conducting around 600 tests of coronavirus in the province. Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Friday, Dr. Saleem Abro, the Director-General Health Balochistan said the testing capacity was being improved and increased to reach out to the maximum number of people.

“We are planning to conduct daily 1,000 tests of coronavirus”, Mr. Abro said. The government has also planned to conduct around 50,000 tests in various parts of Quetta city, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan tells daily Quetta Voice.

From tomorrow, the random testing process would be started in Quetta, the DG health informed. The coronavirus has so far affected 13 districts of Balochistan out of a total of 33 districts.

In Quetta, the virus continues to spread fast and most of the cases are locally transmitted, the DG health said. He urged upon the masses to adopt social distancing and implement lockdown to halt the spread of novel coronavirus in the province.
