Commissioner Naseerabad division Bashir Ahmad Bangulzai stated that the policeman accused of killing a flood affectee was arrested and an FIR has been lodged against him.

The policeman opened fire and killed a flood-affected person waiting for the distribution of relief goods. The accused policeman started firing to disperse the crowd as the number of relief goods was limited as compared to the number of flood affectees present, a senior police official said.

The accused will be punished according to the law and compensation will be provided to the heirs and children of the victim. “Strict measures must be taken to prevent such tragic incidents”, Bashir Ahmad Bangulzai said.

70% water removed from flooded areas

While talking about the restoration of the flood affectees, he stated that the restoration work is going on rapidly and all of the concerned institutions played their vital role. The administration is shifting the flood-affected people to their homes in all districts of the Naseerabad division.

The administration is taking all the possible steps to provide facilities to enhance the restoration work because winter is near to come and the affected people must be shifted to their homes. The concerned authorities have removed 70% of the flood water from the flooded areas, Mr. Bangulzai informed.

NGOs should construct homes instead of distributing food: Commissioner

The NGO sector should take measures to construct houses for the flood victims instead of distributing food items. The construction of houses will decrease the difficulties of the flood-affected people and they will rest in their houses and can start their lives, Commissioner Naseerabad division expressed these views while talking to media men.

Deputy Commissioner Naseerabad Ayesha Zehri, Deputy Commissioner Jafarabad Abdul Razzaq Khajak, Deputy Commissioner Jhal Magsi Yasir Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Sohbatpur Jameel Ahmad Baloch were also present.

The survey process for the flood-affected people will be completed soon in Naseerabad Division. “People should cooperate with the survey team and inform them about their losses in a transparent manner”, Mr. Bangulzai.
