DUKKI: At least two coal miners were killed in two separate incidents of landslide in Balochistan’s Dukki district on Monday. Levies sources said the landslides inside two separate coal mines in the Chamalang area of the district.

The coal miners were extracting coal from deep inside the mine when hit by landslides. Both miners were killed on the spot. Rescue workers reached the spot and retrieved the dead bodies of the victims.

Levies sources said coal miners were identified as Sher Ali and Muhammad Naseem, residents of Swat Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa and Loralai. The dead bodies were brought to the district headquarters hospital Dukki.

The hospital administration handed over the dead bodies of the heirs after the completion of necessary official procedures.

Hazardous working conditions have claimed scores of precious human lives during the last few years inside the coal mines of Balochistan. Such untoward incidents inside the coal mines of Dukki, Harnai, Mach, Sorange, Marwar, Khost and other parts of Balochistan have become the order of the day.
