The third ship named King Wink, carrying 31,000 metric tons out of total 200,000 tons of urea fertilizer imports reached at Gwadar port on Tuesday, January 10. The first ship, carrying 32,000 tons, berthed on December 29 and the second ship, carrying 31,500 tons, reached on January first.
This is the first time that Gwadar port has provided handling, processing and administrative operations services to Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) which belongs to the public sector.
Earlier, all import consignments including import of wheat and import of fertilizer for various companies under Afghan Transit Trade Agreement were processed through Gwadar port and was transferred only to the private sector.
Gwadar Port is doing all this in collaboration with Gwadar International Terminal Limited (GITL) and National Logistics Cell (NLC).
Gwadar Port has developed its reputation in the private sector, TCP is importing 200,000 tons of urea in one case and 450,000 tons of wheat in a separate case from Gwadar port.
Gwadar Port is also officially handling and processing 45,000 metric tons of wheat imports because a formal agreement has been signed between Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) and Gwadar International Terminal Limited (GITL) with which a new chapter of logistics activities has started. According to the agreement, the official processing time frame will be between February 1, 2023 and March 31, 2023.
