QUETTA: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan claimed to have arrested a female who would be a suicide bomber from the Satellite Town area of Quetta on Saturday.

The CTD conducted an intelligence-based operation in collaboration with the secret services and foiled a major bid of terrorism by apprehending the female suicide bomber, the CTD Spokesman said.

In an IBO (Intelligence Based Operation) conducted by CTD along with Intelligence Agencies near Ladies Park Block 4 Satellite Town Quetta against an outlawed organization, One female potential Suicide Bomber was arrested. The suicide Jacket was recovered.

Intelligence Agencies got credible source information that banned Baloch organization’s lady suicide bomber intending to carry out a signature SB attack on some key installations/LEAs in Quetta.
On this info, the CTD Team Quetta conducted an IBO near Ladies Park Satellite Town Quetta. whereby a pedestrian lady (with a shoulder bag) as identified by the source was stopped with the help of lady searchers. Upon searching the bag SB’s jacket was recovered that weighed 4-5 kg.

Case FIR No 09/2023 U/S 4-5 Exp, 11F(1)(2)(6)-11I-11N-07 ATA has been lodged against the potential SB at Police Station CTD Quetta.

The lady accused was accordingly produced before the court of law concerned for physical custody.
An investigation has been launched to arrest the remaining members of the network.
More raids are planned for other areas of Balochistan.
