The recovery of three mutilated dead bodies in Balochistan’s Barkhan district pained every person. The way dead bodies were retrieved from a well in the Haji Kot area of Barkhan and brought to Quetta, put many questions about our justice system.
All Pakistan Marri Itehad staged a three-day sit-in in the Red Zone of Quetta to mount pressure on the authorities to recover hostaged family members of Khan Muhammad Marrin in Barkhan. Marri’s wife Granaz, her daughter, and four children were recovered by the levies force. No arrest was made and it was not officially announced that they (Khan Muhammad’s family members) were in whose custody?
Marri accused Sardar Khetran of murdering his family members
Marri had accused Balochistan Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran of murdering his family members. However, the FIR was lodged by Barkhan police against the unknown accused.
The minister surrendered before the police without registration of any case against him. He is likely to get bail from court very soon since there is no evidence against the latter.
The Secretary General of the Marri Itehad, Jehangir Marri on the first day of the protest announced that the protest would continue till the arrival of the Prime Minister and the registration of an FIR against the minister. Nevertheless, the Itehad ended up the protest without the arrival of any provincial minister and registered of FIR against the minister on the third day of the protest.
This gives more questions than answers. Khan Muhammad Marri’s sons were buried in Quetta and the latter preferred not to comment on the incident of killing his sons anymore.
The ‘heirless’ girl was laid to rest in Quetta
The unfortunate ‘heirless’ girl was laid to rest by the Edhi foundation in Quetta the other day. “No one came for the body of the teenage girl who had been raped and then shot dead and acid was thrown on the face so that she could not be identified,” a volunteer of the Edhi foundation told Daily Quetta Voice.
To be precise, it is the responsibility of the provincial government to conduct a DNA test of the teenage girl and bring the killers of the triple murder to book. This will ensure rule of law and writ of the State and restore the confidence of the masses in State institutions.
