At least four coal miners were killed and another three injured when armed men opened fire at a mine in the Khost area of Harnai district.

Levies sources said armed accused opened fire at the miners on Monday morning. Four miners were dead on the spot. The attackers escaped unhurt from the spot of the incident.

Coal miners and levies personnel reached the spot and shifted the injured miners to the Harnai district headquarters hospital for medical treatment.

Levies termed the attack a targeted killing incident. A search operation was also launched by the district administration to arrest the culprits involved in the attack.

Bizenjo condemns the attack

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo also condemned the incident and directed the administration to arrest the culprits involved in the attack.

In a statement issued after the incident, Mr. Bizenjo expressed grief and sorrow over the killing of coal miners.

He said the Terrorists involved in the attack would not be spared.

Home Minister condemns the attack

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove strongly condemned the blast and directed the levies and police to arrest the culprits behind the attack. He directed the district administration to submit a report in this regard.
