Employees of Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) staged a protest against non-payment of salaries. The university’s faculty took to grounds demanding payment of their salaries.
Some employees and faculty members took to the social media network Twitter and lodged their protests about the non-payment of salaries.
“We are not even paid with salaries of February month”, a tweet by one of faculty members mentioned.
There is too much inflation and we can not meet our basic needs due to no salaries from the university.
The employees have been suffering from mental anxiety and financial issues because of the non-payment of salaries.
This is not for the first time in the history of BUITEMS that faculty members and employees are not paid their salaries. Last year the faculty and non teaching staff staged many protests against University Administration and HEC for non payment of salaries.

The management of the university makes lofty claims about financial and administrative management, but the situation is that even after 20 years, the university is suffering from a lack of funds and the institution has been hit with a financial crisis due to financial mismanagement.
BUITEMS is considered to be the face of Balochistan’s higher education. The University was ranked among the top 600 universities in Asia. Faculty members and students of the university have made good strides in terms of research, inventions and other achievements.
