Jaffar Express narrowly escaped a bomb explosion in the Sibi district of Balochistan on Tuesday. Levies sources said the bomb went off with a big band when the Jaffar Express passed from the site of the explosion.

“There was a huge blast as the passenger train crossed the spot”, a levies official said. He requested anonymity since he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Jaffar Express was on its way from Mach to Lahore

The Jaffar Express was going from Mach to Lahore when it narrowly escaped the bomb explosion. Levies sources said unknown miscreants had planted a bomb near the railway track to target the passenger train.

Security forces and Levies personnel reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway.

Militants in the past have repeatedly attacked passenger trains in the area.
