KOHLU: Locust attacks in Balochistan’s Kohlu district have caused damages to standing crops of farmers and growers on Saturday. Various areas of district Kohlu are prone to locust attacks.

Locust attacks have caused damages to standing crops of wheat, cotton, onion, tomatoes, and other crops in Kohlu. The entire agriculture sector has been severely affected by the locust invasion in Kohlu like in other parts of Balochistan.

The growers complained that the agriculture department is yet to start anti locust spray in the area. Farmers and growers of Kohlu district have demanded of the deputy commissioner to ensure timely utilization of machinery and spray against locust to avoid damages. Various areas of Balochistan including Sibi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Kharan, Chaghi, Noshki and other areas are prone to locust attacks. Continued invasion of locust in different areas of Balochistan have caused damages to standing crops recently.
