Customs Intelligence conducted a raid in Balochistan’s Noshki and seized sugar and fertilizers worth Rs. 6 crores.

According to the customs authorities, after receiving a tip-off, customs intelligence along with FC and police raided the flour mill and recovered 10,000 bags of sugar and 1200 bags of urea fertilizer.

The value of exported sugar and urea is Rs. 6 crores

According to the customs sources, the value of exported sugar and urea or fertilizer is Rs 6 crore and further action is being taken.

Customs Balochistan has launched a crackdown against sugar and fertilizers smugglers across Balochistan, especially near the Pak-Iran and Afghan borders.

Crackdown launched against sugar smugglers: Chief Collector Customs

Chief Collector Customs, Muhammad Saleem stated that customs recovered sugar and fertilizers during various raids in the Chaghi and Dalbandin districts of Balochistan.

PM Shehbaz Sharif takes notice of sugar smuggling

Customs launched a crackdown against the sugar smugglers after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the sugar smuggling to neighboring Afghanistan via the Kharan district of Balochistan.

Sugar abruptly increased from Rs.95 to Rs. 130 in the open market in Balochistan after its smuggling to Afghanistan. A video of a long convoy of trucks loaded with sugar went viral on social media in Kharan.

This prompted the Prime Minister to take notice of the sugar smuggling to Afghanistan and directed the customs to launch a crackdown against the sugar smugglers.
