CHAMAN: Pak-Afghan border Chaman was opened by authorities on Monday morning after a period of 74 days. Common people and traders community heaved a sigh of relief following the opening of the border.
Trade activities resumed on both sides of the border as people rushed towards the border. Trucks carrying goods and commodities entered from Pakistan into Afghanistan after the protracted wait. During the opening of the border, the authorities asked the people to follow social-distancing to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus. Long queues of vehicles were witnessed on both sides of the border.
Pakistan had closed its border with Afghanistan on March 2nd this year to contain the coronavirus. Pakistan has also established a quarantine center at the border to quarantine the people coming from Afghanistan to halt the spread of the deadly virus.
