An anti terrorist court handed over 18 workers of the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) to police for another five-days on remand on Thursday. Amid tight security, 18 workers of the PTI were produced before the court in Quetta.
Judge of the ATC-1, Tasawur Naveed handed over the PTI workers to police on remand. Police had arrested PTI workers in connection with May 9 for inflicting damages to public and private properties in Quetta.
Police investigation officer requests court for extension of remand
Malik Hameed, the investigation officer of the police requested the court to extend the date of the remand since police were interrogating the accused in custody. The accused are involved in causing damages to national installations.
Syed Iqbal Shah Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the PTI workers. Mr. Shah completed arguments with regard to the arrest of the PTI supporters in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan and pleaded that his clients were not guilty of committing any crime.
Police had arrested 70 PTI workers in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan
However, the police investigation officer requested the judge to extend the date of the remand since they were required for further investigation by police.
Police had arrested around 70 PTI workers allegedly involved in causing damages to public and private properties in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till May 22nd.
