One coal miner was killed and four injured in a methane gas blast inside a coal mine in Balochistan’s Dukki district on Saturday. Police sources said the coal miners were working deep inside the mine when there was a blast.

One coal miner was dead on the spot. Whereas, four coal miners suffered burn injuries. The injured coal miners were rushed to the district headquarters hospital Dukki for medical treatment. An emergency was declared in the hospital to provide medical treatment to the injured miners.

No burn ward at Dukki hospital

However, there was no burn ward and proper medical facilities in the Dukki hospital. Subsequently, all four coal miners who had suffered burn injuries were referred to Quetta for medical treatment.

All miners belong to Afghanistan. Among the injured miners, Rasul Dad son of Fateh Khan, Ali Muhammad, Amanullah son of Fazal Ghani Qum Kakar Sakna Afghanistan, Abdul Qadir son of Abdul Salam.

2 coal miners trapped since May 4th in Dukki

They have been working in Dukki coal mines area for the last more than a decade. This incident has come after two coal miners were trapped inside a mine on May 4th in Dukki mines area. The rescue workers are yet to recover the trapped miners in Dukki.
