The Balochistan government appointed vice-chancellors of five public universities in the province on Tuesday. The Balochistan Higher Education Department issued formal appointment orders of VCs.
As per notifications obtained by the Daily Quetta Voice, Dr. Khalid Hafeez has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor, Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Dr. Ehsanullah as VC Lorlai University, Dr. Qadir Bakhsh Baloch VC Sardar Chakar Rind University Sibi, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed VC Khuzdar Engineering University and Dr. Shabir Lehri as the VC Bolan Medical University.
The VC were appointed on the recommendations of the search committee constituted as per the Universities Model Act 2022 Balochistan. The provincial cabinet approved the five names and were endorsed the Chancellor/Governor’s office.
The notifications of the appointment of VCs was issued by the outgoing Secretary Higher Education Balochistan, Hafiz Abdul Majid. Mr. Majid has also been the member of the search committee and played a key role in the recommendations of the VCs as per the universities model act 2022 Balochistan.
