It is a matter of immense pleasure for the people of Balochistan that you are the second premier from this resource-rich but least-developed province of Pakistan after late Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali. Masses of Balochistan pinned high hopes on you in view of the fact that you being the son of the soil are well aware of the issues, the province has been facing for a long time.

Successive governments have ignored this province in terms of development, prosperity, and the province’s due and constitutional share in services, mega projects, student scholarships, etc. Last year, flash floods unleashed by torrential rains played havoc across Balochistan. Still, a large number of floods-affected people are yet to be rehabilitated from merciless floods in the province.

Pinjra Bridge

As you know, the Pinjra bridge located in the rugged mountains of Bolan that connects Balochistan with Sindh and Punjab provinces is yet to be reconstructed. This has compounded the problems of the people of Balochistan.

The pace of work on the Quetta-Karachi highway is extremely slow. At this pace, it is likely to take decades for the dualization of the Quetta-Karachi highway commonly called the “killer highway”. The highway has claimed thousands of precious human lives.

The condition of the Quetta to Chaman, Taftan, and Zhob highways is not different from the Karachi highway. You are well aware that the dualization of these highways has been the longstanding demand of the people of Balochistan.

Balochistan does not have a kilometer motorway

The province that covers half of the country does not have a single-kilometer motorway. Mr. Prime Minister make history and announce a motorway for this province to bring it at par with other parts of the country.

Students Scholarships

The province has been lagging behind other provinces in key social indicators and education is one of them. Our students have no access to quality education to compete on national and international levels. You are therefore requested to increase the number of scholarships for the students of Balochistan.

Skill Development For Youth

A program in collaboration with well-reputed non-governmental organizations needs to be launched to provide skills to the youth of Balochistan. This is going to improve socio-economic conditions and open new vistas of development and prosperity for our young generation. Our youth also deserves to be imparted with skills to go abroad from the Gulf States to Europe to serve the country and nation. Currently, you know that Balochistan’s share in the remittances is extremely low.

A special Package for Quetta should be announced

Mr. Prime Minister Quetta being the provincial capital paints a bleak picture when it comes to development. This city should be brought at par with other provincial capitals across Pakistan. Citizens of Quetta have been facing the issue of scarcity of water, worst traffic jam, communication problems, etc. Much has been said about the city in the past, but previous rulers failed to translate their words into action.

BISP and Balochistan

Universal coverage of poor population especially women under BISP program is required on urgent basis.  Number of poor covered under BISP is lowest among all the provinces while Poverty in Balochistan is higher in all aspects.
